How To Authenticate Valentino Clothing

Swing Tag

In this example, the text on the counterfeit swing tag appears thinner and less bold. Due to this, letters appear misshapen, especially noticeable in the letters ‘E’ and ‘T’.

Neck Label

In this example, the counterfeit text is printed too thick, causing the letters ‘L’ and ‘E’ to conjoin at the bottom.

Additionally, letters ‘D’ and ‘E’ in 'MADE' appear conjoined due to their increased thickness.

Letters ‘I’ and ‘N’ contain virtually no spacing between them, whereas authentic's display a large spacing between these letters.

Neck Label

In this example, the counterfeit text is poorly replicated, most notably in the shapes of the letterforms 'L', 'E', 'T', and 'I' in 'VALENTINO'.

The lettering is noticeably too thin, with excessive spacing between characters.

Wash Label

In this example, the counterfeit uses an incorrect font, most noticeable in the numbers ‘2’ and ‘6’, while the ‘30’ on the wash symbol appears too large, thick and bold.

The counterfeit positions the VALENTINO text too far to the left, causing misalignment with the model number beneath.

The counterfeit misplaces the stated size after 'Taille' too high and not aligned.

Additionally, the counterfeit misspells ‘Hergestellt’, German for 'manufactured, as ‘Hegestellt’.

Lastly, the counterfeit possesses noticeable spacing on either side of each ‘/’ symbol.

RFID Label (Front)

In this example, the counterfeit’s font is incorrect and the text is noticeably thicker with minimal spacing between the letters.

The scissors symbol appears much larger and more open, while the RFID symbol is thicker and has three lines instead of two as seen on the authentic.

Additionally, the QR code looks thicker and blurry, whereas the authentic’s code is thinner and more sharply defined.

RFID Label (Back)

In this example, the counterfeit features much thicker and bolder text.

It also contains spelling errors, writing 'tecnologia' as 'tecnonlogia' and ‘contraffazioni’ as ‘contraffazzioni’.

Additionally, the counterfeit adds apostrophes and accents incorrectly, such as changing 'lautenticita' to 'l'autenticità'.

It also omits punctuation, missing a comma after 'counterfeiting' and a full stop after 'services'.

Note: This guide is not exhaustive. Authentic Valentino products can vary by model, season, and country of manufacture, so genuine items may differ from the examples shown. Counterfeit versions are constantly evolving, with new variations regularly appearing that may not be documented here. When in doubt, professional authentication is strongly recommended.
